2010...

Happy new year... I will be making new stuff for new year... I am thinking of making a dress but nothing is coming to me... simple elegance... I hope I get inspired... lets go 2010!!!!

Snowed in...

This was actually done while the snow was coming down... there was no where to go but stay in... it was very interesting because I was indoors since Friday and this is late Saturday evening snow still coming down and tired of playing Wii and catching up on Abc shows... I decided to stitch a bit... I didn't really have a pattern but had scissors and was ready to cut into whatever came my way... Had this little piece of fabric I bought from fabric store for $1.98 on clearance and had lots of purple chiffon around the house...
No real plan in sight, this is what I came up with... My fiance things I am half crazy cutting blindly into pieces but sometimes this brings the best out of a person I suppose...




This is the back view... I was trying something new... the sleeve started way into the middle of the back... A technique i want to master..




Ant this is with a belt... I wish it was adifferent color of belt so u can really see it well..

so after playing around with fabric and ideas I decided to sew the dress without sleeves.. it turned out better that I decided adding sleeves will take away from the dress.. It could my best creation yet...


I love experimenting with styles that feel quiet unattainable especially if I haven't see the pattern just going in blindly and I come back on top... Love that feeling... let my imagination go wild...

something for me...

Came across this fabric that was left over from a dress I made for my friend. I am still waiting for pics from her so I can post. That was my very first project sewing for someone else...
i came up with a design i thought to work on... i hope it comes up as designed otherwise... atleast come up halfway decent! wish me luck



i love the simplicity of the colors... not too over powering... cant wait to see the outcome...

trying something new...

It has been a long two weeks hoping to post but being so consumed in day to day events... I am getting married so wedding plans have taken most of my time... So I am finding it hard t blog about my new stuff... but i will get on this fast
I am fast learning new techniques and styles and it seems to come to me so easy....
I just finished working on dress for a friend of mine... must admit it looks better on the person than on the dress form but since I didnt have her around i will use the dress form....




I like the back view...




The close up kinda shows the details of the outfit... The print is pretty busy so it is hard to see it very well... The outcome is the owner loved it very much so I guess that was my second serious customer... pro bono LOL

Short weekend long week ahead...

So the weekend is finally behind me... pressing on to what is ahead and wanting to sew so bad... I just don't want to sew stuff that is like basic.. I am craving something challenging this week.. I know with no background in sewing it might prove to be rather difficult... but I am up for the challenge...
Long week...I can't believe I am still working through thanksgiving... But gotta see if I can ge some time in for sewing....
This weekend I worked on a shirt... I actually like the style very much I think it would look better if the color of the fabric was much softer... and not so so busy... but i think it was still a feat to overcome... hope you like it

Makings of me...

OK so I have the arduous task today of creating a dress for my friend for a wedding... this will be the first dress I will make for a body that is not mine... That is proving to be rather difficult but I am up for the challenge... i usually sew clothes onto my back but I can not do this to someone's clothes.... worse she never gave me her measurements she just told she is about mys size since she lost 15 pounds!!! GULP!!! This will be fun!!!
